Services

Food

  • The Soup Kitchen provides an average of 175 lunchtime meals per day to anyone in the community who is in need.  Combined with meals for those living in the Men’s Shelter and Family Center, over 200,000 meals per year are prepared and served with a food budget of $0.
  • Over 4,000 volunteers help prepare and serve meals in the Crisis Ministries’ kitchen each year.
  • Food and supply drives conducted in the community provide canned goods, cooking and cleaning supplies to operate the kitchen.
  • The Food Rescue Truck travels to restaurants, grocery stores and businesses to rescue prepared and perishable food to be served in the Soup Kitchen. Each year, over $500,000 worth of food is rescued and served.

Shelter

  • On average, Crisis Ministries houses 1,600 people per year. 
  • The Men’s Shelter provides 70 emergency shelter beds, 14 transitional housing beds for male veterans and 20 overflow cots during extreme weather conditions.
  • The Family Center provides 30 emergency shelter beds for women and families and 10 transitional housing beds for female veterans. 
  • The Transitional Living Center is a four-bedroom, four-bathroom house that provides transitional housing for up to 12 individuals and/or families.

Hope

  • Typically, 50 – 55% of those sheltered become engaged in programs that help them become self-sufficient. Of those enrolled in programs, approximately 50% successfully move into housing each year.
